FCC Dollars for Scholars hosts second annual Bowlathon

Fremont, Calif. (3/2013)- The contributions went up as each pin went down at the annual Fremont Chamber of Commerce Dollars for Scholars Annual Bowlathon on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Cloverleaf Family Bowl.  Ten teams of highly motivated bowlers took to the lanes raising funds for post-secondary scholarships for students in Fremont and neighboring communities.

In its second year, the Bowlathon raised more than $6,000 for the scholarship foundation, and increase of 200% over 2012. 

"It was a great day, fun and challenging," said Cindy Bonior, president and CEO of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.  "Most importantly, we raised a lot of monies that will be used to help students realize pursue higher education and pursue their dreams.  We've created an event that not only raises funds for an important cause, but one that brings the community together for fun!"

Fremont Chamber of Commerce Dollars for Scholars is a 501(c)(3) organization established to award scholarships to students seeking to achieve a better way of life through higher education.
